Finn Church Aid (FCA)’s Board of Directors has appointed Ville Kivimäki as FCA’s Director of Finance and Operations Support from 1 July 2026. 

VILLE KIVIMÄKI MSc (Econ) joined FCA in 2008 and previously worked as FCA’s ERP & Roving Finance Manager, and Head of Global Controlling Unit and Finance Manager. Prior to FCA, he worked for Finnish NGO platform Fingo and engineering consultancy NIRAS in Zambia. 

“I am truly honoured by this nomination and feel privileged to continue my journey at Finn Church Aid, which began already in 2008. Working with dedicated and committed colleagues across global FCA makes this role especially meaningful,” says Ville.

The Director oversees Finance, Logistics, Operations’ Support, ICT, and Risk and Compliance across the entire FCA Group, as well as participating in the overall leadership of the organization.

“I am extremely happy to welcome Ville to this new role. Our sector is facing unprecedented turbulence and leadership related to financial management is at the core in adapting to the changed operational environment,” said Tomi Järvinen, FCA’s Executive Director. 

2025 saw a dramatic reduction in institutional donor funding worldwide. FCA’s $7 million US grant cut at the beginning of last year represented the largest single funding loss in its history. 

FCA’s Chair of the Board of Directors Tarja Kantola reflected on the recruitment:

In response to funding challenges, FCA has adapted its operations quickly, enabling us to continue our work, while focusing on collaborating further with local and international organizations, which, says Tomi, complements Ville’s experience.  
 
“Ville has a broad experience in working with international donors, working in the field in various positions and with commercial consultancy. A long experience in our organization and in the sector gives a strong foundation to work in the new role and ensure that FCA remains a reliable partner to our supporters and above all to the people we serve.”
